Port Elizabeth

Ginger is a gourmet restaurant located on the waterfront of Port Elizabeth. The friendly atmosphere of the city extends to the restaurant. The combination is very simple: fresh, local ingredients, new ideas to make particularly original dishes and an award-winning wine list to enjoy. Whether you want to enjoy a lunch with friends in the open air facing the sea or a romantic dinner listening to the sound of the waves while sipping a cocktail, the Ginger offers a great experience.

Simone and Allan, the owners of the establishment, offer a refined cuisine, reinventing and modernizing classics. Here the products are carefully selected: wild fennel from the kloof, beach salicornia and sea salt, homemade fermented vinegar and flavoured cheeses on site. The meat is supplied by a small local butcher and all fresh produce comes from small independent suppliers, all of whom are organic. Allan is proud to say that he doesn't freeze anything, except when absolutely necessary!

A very nice place to have a little sandwich break, or rather bocadillos. Bocadillos is both a bakery and a restaurant. Here the culinary experience is very relaxed, something different every time you pass by. Salads, nachos, burritos, tacos: the place takes us on a trip to Latin America for lunch or dinner. The bakery with its modern decoration also offers breakfasts from 7:30 in the morning.
