Qwa-Qwa, a former autonomous bantustan, is the land of the Southern Sotho, the brothers of the Lesothans, grouped here in the Kwena and Tlokwa tribes. In 1994, the green and orange pony flag was consigned to the dustbin of separate development. Now this small territory, as big as a postage stamp, has been returned to the South African motherland. The Sentinel Drive, one of the highest roads in the country, can be climbed without the use of a 4WD vehicle. A final note, in the form of a wink to advertisers: Qwa-Qwa could be translated as "whiter than white". This means that it is cold in winter and not very hot in summer.
