This is THE Museum of Contemporary Art in Cape Town. A huge building, that of the former Silo Building, a pharaonic transformation project in the industrial district of the V&A Waterfront that gave birth to the first museum of this scale in Africa. A cultural institution that, in addition to exhibitions, events, workshops and other events, contributes to the cultural and artistic scene in Cape Town and highlights contemporary art from all over Africa.

Incontournable
Même si l'on n'est pas sensible à l'art contemporain, il faut y venir pour la prouesse architecturale de la reconversion de cet ancien silo. Et les expositions temporaires éveillent la curiosité particulièrement pour l'art africain encore mal connu. Très vivement conseillé.

Le silo est juste une magnificience architecturale. c'est vraiment tres beau et a voir absolument.
L'art contemporain qui y est expose ne m'a pas laisse un souvenir transcendant car pas de continuite dans l'ordre et l'agencement des oeuvres.

Visite à recommander: le bâtiment est d'une architecture remarquable, et nous avons trouvé qu'environ les 3/4 des oeuvres exposées valaient la peine. Le bâtiment est très facile d'accès, sur le Waterfront. A faire, même si on n'est pas "fan" de l'art moderne...

Ce nouveau musée, installé dans un ancien silo à grains, est magnifique de tous points de vues. Le geste architectural est impréssionant; les collections sont merveilleusement bien mise en valeurs. Le restaurant du 6ème propose une cuisine succulente. Osez les fish&chips, ils sont vraiment léger.
