FIRST THURSDAY

A must. This is the event not to be missed on the first Thursday of every month in Cape Town (and Johannesburg). A public and free event. Art galleries around the city centre remain open until 9pm or later to allow anyone to explore the city on foot and discover its cultural and artistic richness. There is no circuit, no schedule or guided walk; it depends on you, on your desires... Let yourself be guided by the galleries that organize wine tastings on this occasion. The atmosphere is extremely pleasant and it is perhaps the only time in the month that you can go out on the streets without fear.... They're crowded and pretty safe.
