The mining village is the first site of alluvial diamond exploration. It is located on a small nature reserve. At the bottom is a pleasant but sun-drenched picnic area. You can take a look at the ores in the Municipal Museum. You should know that the writer Sarah Gertrude Miller spent her early years in the village. Nearby is the Sydney-on-Vaal mining camp. In the 1960s, Sydney was bought by the Gant family and renovated in the "old-fashioned" way to attract tourists. You can visit the camp and the Mendelssohn library. Several sports activities: swimming, tennis, walking, fishing, canoeing..
