Red-brick house housing striking photos depicting the lives of black people between 1919 and 1939.
In this house built of red bricks, the photographic testimony of Alfred Duggan-Cronin, an Irishman employed by De Beers in the 1920s, on the life of the black population between 1919 and 1939. Striking photographs taken during a 120,000 km journey through southern Africa that today constitute a true photographic and ethnographic heritage of the country. Under an original architecture housing precious memories of the nation, the place was declared a national monument in 1984.
