DIGGINS SITE MUSEUM

On the Uptown Pilgrim's Rest, Diggin Site Museum is an open-air museum created on the site of an old mine and its workshops. You'll learn how gold fever drew thousands of miners to the area, how veins were located, nuggets filtered and processed. Behind the mine, a reconstructed village presents the office of the commissioner who once estimated the value of the nuggets, or the prisoners' tent, the transport wagons... A real leap back in time and the gold rush.
