Tankwa Karoo National Park, located near Pretoria / Tshwane, is a magnificent place surrounded by mountains and breathtaking natural beauty. Although the park is still under development, it offers accommodation such as Paulshoek Cottage, Varschfontein Cottage, Wilderness Camp Elandsberg, Tanqua Guesthouse, De Zyfer Cottage and Gannaga Lodge, all set in rustic natural landscapes. There are no formal camping facilities, but under certain conditions visitors can camp in designated areas. Activities include birdwatching, mammal watching and picnic excursions. It's important to note that there are no stores, restaurants, public telephones, ATMs or credit card facilities in the park. Visitors are encouraged to bring binoculars, a camera, hiking boots and wildlife books.
