Celebration in honour of Hieu Trung Hâu, founder of quan ho, a form of folk song inscribed by UNESCO on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Processions, ritual ceremonies, singing competitions and popular games punctuate the festivities. The performances of quan ho, a musical genre peculiar to the Kinh Bac, the ancient name of the province of Bac Ninh, form the heart of the festival. These songs express the local identity of the communities in the region and help build social bonds within and between villages.
