The Dông Nhân temple, located 2 kilometers south of Lake Hoàn Kiêm, honors the two Vietnamese sisters Trung Trac and Trung Nhi.
Located 2 kilometers south of Lake Hoàn Kiêm, this temple is also known as Dông Nhân temple. Founded in 1142 under the reign of King Ly Anh Tông, the temple honors the two Vietnamese sisters Trung Trac and Trung Nhi (the two Trung ladies: Hai Ba Trung) who, in the 1st century, embodied the first resistance movement against the Chinese. In the sanctuary, the statues of the two heroines are accompanied by 12 statues representing the generals who took part in the struggle against the Chinese. Nearby is a watering hole where locals like to stroll.
