At the end of a small alleyway lined with accommodation for tourists on a tight budget, this small family-run restaurant has been a big hit with Western travellers for the past fifteen years. The setting is pleasant and unpretentious. Vietnamese dishes prepared to order using fresh produce, with a fair amount of fried food, but also healthy dishes such as broths and cooked vegetables. Varied menus, breakfasts, snacks and desserts. Recommended for those who want to travel at low cost.

LAC THIÊN

Vietnamese restaurant

A must for all travelers, and rightly so, as is the neighboring establishment owned by the same family. The owners are mute, but communication is no problem, and they can offer you bike and moped rentals. There's a great atmosphere here, and the smiles and sense of humor of the family and waitresses are a big part of it. As does the bottle-opener, now known the world over... Local Vietnamese cuisine featuring banh khoai, bun bo with beef - Hué's specialty, thit nuong (grilled pork)...

Restaurant opened in 2012. On the north bank of the Perfume River, within the Citadel, the villa is based on the plans of a colonial era building. A very pleasant setting and atmosphere for a restaurant that honors both French and Vietnamese gastronomy. Prefer the Vietnamese option, with very successful classics... Also, bar and ice cream parlour. The establishment is very popular and has become an institution.

HÀNG ME ME

Vietnamese restaurant

Small establishment with the paces of canteen, famous for its 3 specialities, queens of the Hue gastronomy: banh beo, banh nam and banh loc. Steamed dishes, based on rice cakes and shrimps, to be discovered by unfolding the leaf of the zong tree that wrapped them during cooking. Spectacular, light and delicious. Apart from that on the menu, a large choice of local dishes, fresh beers at soft prices. Don't miss the discreet little shop window, follow the crowds and discover a real panoply of Vietnamese gastronomy.

Ideal for dinner, fusion between the best Vietnamese cuisine and Western gastronomy. Le Parfum is the brasserie of the hotel La Résidence. As such, you can enjoy a magnificent view from the terrace of this beautiful colonial style building. The view of the Perfume River and the imperial citadel is worth the trip alone. The great originality of the recipes and the freshness of the ingredients will finish to satisfy you. As for Vietnamese cuisine, we recommend bun thit bo nuong.

An excellent restaurant serving vegetarian and vegan specialties recommended to all! The quality of the produce, the finesse of the cooking and the flavor of the dishes will satisfy even the most demanding palates. Wide variety of dishes. Attractive presentation. The setting is particularly pleasant, with a large garden and a room with old wooden furniture and soft Zen music. The owner is a former Buddhist monk who has converted an old mansion into a restaurant. A great success.

SPICE VIET HUE

Vietnamese restaurant

A good restaurant with a modern, warm and bright setting. On the menu, very good Vietnamese specialties, with an emphasis on those from Hué: bun bo hue, noodles with pork and beef, banh khoai, a small crispy pancake, bun thit nuong, rice noodles with grilled pork, or va tron tôm thit, a green fig salad with pork and shrimp. Attentive, professional service. Good cocktails. Portions aren't very generous, but at these prices, it's hard to be picky!

BÀNH KHOÀI HÔNG MAI

Vietnamese restaurant

Since 1986, this small establishment near the citadel has been serving Hue's specialty: Bhan Khoai. These are small crunchy pancakes made of rice and cassava flour, filled with shrimps, pork and vegetables. Chillies and herbs are then added as desired. The homemade sauce, in which you dip your pancake, is made with a secret recipe that is the trademark of the restaurant. You can add to your meal egg rolls and grilled pork skewers. It's simply delicious and the locals flock there in numbers.
