CATEDRAL DE OURENSE
Read moreConsidered the last high example of Romanesque art in the west, it dates from the 13th century. The narthex (north doorway) was sculpted at that time on the model of the portico of Glory - enough to fill compostellan nostalgic style. The bright polychrome covering the apostles dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. The interior, marked by the Baroque architecture, has a beautiful Gothic retable. Also watch, behind the choir, amazing sculpted wooden crucifix, where a romanesque Christ is sacred, like a medieval king.
