Bed and breakfast serving gluten-free and vegan breakfast in a former convent in Veyre-Monton.

This bed & breakfast is housed in a former convent. The architectural challenge of this conversion is quite successful, offering a blend of the quietude of a monastery and the warmth of a guest house. All the decorative elements have been preserved, with the former chapel serving as the central room, illuminated by stained-glass windows and featuring a large mezzanine where guests can read or enjoy the surroundings. A family-run establishment, with a host who takes great care to ensure your well-being, from the new bedding to the home-cooked breakfast.

Lieu insolite. Chambres décorées avec beaucoup de goût. Dîner auvergnat excellent. Hôtes charmants.
Une étape à ne pas rater.

The Convent was our overall favourite from our 9 day trip to France, The location is stunning, on a hilltop, with panoramic views from the terrace. The rooms are stylishly decorated, with plenty of communal space. We had free access to the coffee machine, different teas and flavored water. Arjan and Philipp were wonderful hosts, taking great pride in the building and its history, and always happy to help. It is such a treat to be able to stay in a historic building which has been so carefully restored. Small disappointment was that we couldn't use the bbq which had been mentioned in one of the booking sites. But cheese and cold cuts from the local shop was just fine. Our room was on the top floor, which did get a bit hot, and there were no toiletries (this seems to be rather common in France). However, we would happily go back again.
