Museum in the heart of the town center, presenting cutlery from historical, economic and social angles.
The Musée de la Coutellerie is located in the town's historic center, in two traditional Thiers houses. The first part presents cutlery in Thiers from historical, ethnographic and social angles. In the second part, the museum's knifemakers offer two demonstrations: the assembly of a closing knife and traditional Thiers enouture. The two floors of collections bear witness to the expertise of Thiers cutlers. The youngest visitors won't be left out, either, with a discovery trail to liven up their visit!

On ne peut pas passer par Thiers sans entrer au Musée de la Coutellerie ( bien voir les deux lieux) : un retour dans le passé plein d'émotion

Alors nous avons profité de la journée du patrimoine pour visiter les deux parties de ce musée. La partie explicative (métier, interactivité, etc) est très intéressante, mais la partie d'exposition de collection est sans fin même pour mon mari passionné de couteaux.

Petit musée représentatif de la ville de Thiers. Il regroupe une belle collection de couteaux (tout genre confondu).

unmissable, very well designed. A fine collection of artistic, domestic, historic knives (including that engraved for el Maréchal Pétain).
