A superb view of the Danube emerges from these seven white stone turrets linked by a tower since 1905.
In the Middle Ages, this was the site of the Fishermen's Bastion, a defended section of the town in the hands of the fishermen. This delicate white wall with seven towers was built for the Millennium celebrations between 1899 and 1905, in neo-Gothic style. From the Fishermen's Bastion, which never served any military function, the panorama of the city is nothing short of spectacular. The Bastion now houses a café and restaurant. Admission to the Bastion is charged during the day in high season.

Une visite qui vaut le détoure et la vue sur Pest et le Danube est vraiment splendide. Le Bastion est très bien entretenu et l'Eglise Matyas est un petit joyau avec ses tuiles vernis colorées.

Le Bastion des pêcheurs est, selon moi, le plus bel endroit de Budapest et le plus atypique. Perché en haut de sa colline, il offre aux visiteurs une vue merveilleuse sur la ville.
