Theater, a dazzling Art Deco building designed by architect Béla Lajta, near the Opera House.
In the vicinity of the Opera House, the Théâtre Nouveau was built to plans by the talented architect Béla Lajta (1909). Originally a club called Parisiana, its function was changed in 1919 to serve the dramatic arts. The building, often classified as Art Nouveau, is in fact in a dazzling Art Deco style. Nationalized in 1949, it was turned into a social-realist building, so unsightly that in 1987, the town council decided to return it to its original state!

On regrette même que ce soit un théâtre tant on aimerait entrer et visiter tout le bâtiment. Mais comme c'était l'après-midi, nous avons eu la possibilité d'entrer dans la billeterie, déjà très jolie et jeter un coup d'oeil aux jolies portes en bois!
