LISZT FERENC ACADEMY OF MUSIC
Incomparable acoustics and breathtaking Art Nouveau interior for this 1907 concert hall dedicated to the master Franz Liszt.
An eclectic masterpiece with a splendid Art Nouveau interior, Flóris Korb and Kálmán Giergl completed the Academy of Music in 1907. The institution had been founded in 1875 by Ferenc Liszt, who had decided to build a new edifice. In the end, the composer never had the honor of seeing the building before his death. The Zeneakademia has always been a center of learning, training several hundred musical talents every year. Far from being the preserve of chamber music fanatics alone, the academy also boasts a faculty of folk music and a jazz department. The Zeneakademia also serves as a concert hall with superb acoustics. Tourists and music lovers alike can discover the splendid architecture of the Zeneakademia during guided tours or concerts. The interior is particularly impressive! The refined entrance hall, entirely decorated with blue-green ceramics, represents the aquatic world. Miksa Róth designed the fountain in mordant mosaics, as did the building's stained-glass windows. Upstairs, just before entering the concert hall, the foyer is adorned with La Fontaine des arts, a fresco depicting pilgrims who have come to drink from the fountains of culture. Finally, the auditorium, less ornate than the rest of the building, is reminiscent of the world of Apollo - witness the gilded laurels around the ceiling. It is topped by a monumental organ.

Il y a des visites guidées, mais rien ne vaut l'ambiance d'un concert ou d'un récital.
Il n'y a pas non plus que du classique, certains soirs proposent du jazz ou de la musique traditionnelle hongroise.
