HAJÓS ALFRÉD NEMZETI SPORTUSZODA

This renovated Olympic swimming pool is as much a mecca for Hungarian swimming as it is an architectural curiosity. It was built by Alfréd Hájos, in 1930, to whom it owes its name today, in a style close to the Bauhaus (of which the architect was a prodigy). Hájos, who was also a sportsman, became the first Olympic medalist in Hungarian history. Today the pool has eight pools, including several outdoor pools and a diving center.
