HAJÓS ALFRÉD NEMZETI SPORTUSZODA
Read moreThis renovated Olympic swimming pool is as much a mecca for Hungarian swimming as it is an architectural curiosity. It was built by Alfréd Hájos, in 1930, to whom it owes its name today, in a style close to the Bauhaus (of which the architect was a prodigy). Hájos, who was also a sportsman, became the first Olympic medalist in Hungarian history. Today the pool has eight pools, including several outdoor pools and a diving center.
PISCINE CSÁSZÁR KOMJÁDI (CSÁSZÁR KOMJÁDI USZODA)
Read moreAn aquatic complex for sports enthusiasts, widely used by Magyar water polo swimmers. The three outdoor pools, including a large Olympic pool and a small children's pool, open all year round, are partly supplied by the thermal water of the Lukács baths just next door. They adjoin a classicist wing from the late 19th century, which resolutely breaks with the aesthetics of the building in the late 1970s. The interior was completely renovated in 2017.
