Taking place for a week in August on the Danube island of Óbuda, 20 minutes from downtown Budapest, the Sziget Festival (pronounced "Si-get") offers an eclectic line-up, from international headliners to small local folk bands. Over 500,000 festival-goers attend every year. The festival site is easily reached by streetcar (streetcars 4, 6: Margithíd), then by Hév: Filatorigát; by bus to the Árpád bridge or on foot (a good 30-minute walk from the Marguerite bridge).
