AKVÁRIUM

In 2012, the club previously known as Gödör became - after a serious facelift and many ups and downs - the Akvárium. Gödör (literally, "the hole"), Budapest's nightlife mecca, had taken over the vacant space left by the aborted construction of the National Theatre. A staircase leads down to the large Erzsébet square (very popular with partygoers in summer), where you can catch a glimpse of the pools. Several concert halls inside, and a cutting-edge program. Akvárium, which has become trendier and less alternative, attracts the big names.
