Botanical park with a marked path composed of species of fruit trees and plants.
This park is the culmination of the vision of its creator, Petros Marinakis. In 2003, a fire ravaged the Fournes hills, burning almost 2,000 olive trees. Stunned by this ecological disaster, Petros Marinakis embarked on a reconstruction project, and in 2010 created a haven of plant peace. In a 200,000 m2 ecosystem, hundreds of species of fruit trees and plants stand side by side with peacocks and wild animals. Visitors follow a splendid path through three climatic zones (tropical, Mediterranean and alpine).

Open daily from March to November, from 9 a.m. to sunset (last admission one hour before closing time, usually around 8 p.m.). Admission: €8 for adults, €4 for children.

The Botanical Garden and Park of Crete is more than just a tourist attraction.
It's for anyone who loves nature and plant diversity. Located in Fournes, at the foot of the White Mountains, the garden features a wide variety of Mediterranean and exotic plants in a remarkable natural setting. The 80-hectare site features a wide variety of plants and fruit trees. Explanatory panels help visitors to better understand the properties of the plants while enjoying the landscape. The park is divided into several themed areas, each dedicated to a particular species such as medicinal plants, herbs, citrus fruits or vines. Signposted paths wind through varied landscapes, offering unobstructed views of the surrounding hills. The garden also offers spaces for strolling and relaxing. Shaded areas are ideal for picnics. You'll also come across natural springs and a number of animals, including free-roaming peacocks. A pond is home to ducks, geese and other birds, contributing to the tranquility of the area. An on-site restaurant serves Cretan and Greek cuisine based on local produce.
This site makes an interesting stopover when visiting Fournes.

Le site est très bien entretenu.
Énormément de Paon prêt du lac, impossible de tous les compter.
Des arbres et des plantes de toutes sortes.
La vue le long du parcours est à couper le souffle, vraiment magnifique.
Une super boutique et une jolie terrasse pour terminer afin de reprendre des forces le tout avec une super vue.
