20 km from Sitia, on the quiet beach of Hiona, you'll find one of the region's most renowned tavernas. Opened in 1967, this taverna is renowned for the quality of its fresh fish, seafood and shellfish. Pasta with lobster or shrimp, seafood risotto and squid ink are just some of the specialties on offer. You can also enjoy grilled meat and other traditional dishes. The staff are very friendly. Reservations are recommended in season. Ask for the price per kilo of fresh fish.
