Beach near Malia, the most beautiful of Heraklion.
Near Malia, in the east, the Potamos River flows into the translucent waters of the town. The alluvium, mixed with the white sand, ochre beige color, has formed the most beautiful beach of the region, that of Potamos. Fortunately, although organized, the beach is spared from mass tourism thanks to the nearby archaeological site of Malia and the ecosystem of the river, which is a natural site to be protected. The sea of Potamos is crystalline, turquoise and azure, while the sand lilies grow on the dunes to make this landscape even more exotic.
