The story of Nikos Kazantzaki in a museum in the heart of Varvaroi.

Founded in 1983, this museum is an attempt, through personal objects, photos, costumes, manuscripts and films (in French), to retrace the history of Nikos Kazantzakis, a controversial figure in his time, and to correct the image of this major 20th-century writer(Zorba, Rapport au Greco, La Dernière tentation du Christ). The museum building is located in the heart of his home village, Varvaroi (now Myrtia). Fans can continue their visit to Heraklion's Historical Museum, which devotes an entire room to the writer.

Petit musée intime très bien conçu, retraçant, dans la maison de son père, la vie de l'auteur de Zorbas, de l’Odyssée, la sienne, pas celle d'Homère, de la dernière tentation du Christ.
Pour ceux qui aime seulement.
Pour les autres, la région est viticole et très jolie. GPS très utile pour retrouver les caves.
