KSAR HADDADA

The ghorfas of Ksar Haddada are remarkable, it is one of the most visited ksour of Dahar. It was used by George Lucas to create the village Mos Espa of the planet Tatooine for Star Wars. A mosque was built there in the 1950s. There are also two cafes, a post office, a library, a soccer stadium and a dozen shops. In the center, the ksar was used as a granary for the inhabitants formerly scattered around the village. Nowadays, the ksar is partly restored and serves as a regional tourist site.
