Fun and entertainment Houmt Souk

We fell in love with this former fondouk dating from the 18th century transformed into a nice bar-restaurant. The tables are installed in a pleasant courtyard beautifully decorated, between tradition and arty touches. On the ceiling, decorations made of palm tree fibers, on the floor a nice sky blue furniture. Exhibitions are held upstairs. You can come from morning to night, from breakfast to the festive evening, including lunch. A small store offers handicrafts and a large collection of books (including the nice Elyzad editions). A must see!

A pleasant terrace facing the sea and the Spanish fort where you can sip a mint tea (no alcohol) by smoking a chicha. This is the favourite meeting of the locals during summer evenings. Beautiful Tunisian decoration inside coffee. Wi-Fi.

Located on a small square lined with five huge trees, the Haj Assen café is one of the most typical of the island. From its large terrace, you have a beautiful view of the Mosque of the Turks. It is an ideal place to feel the atmosphere of Houmt Souk. You can drink a Turkish coffee, a good lemonade or a mint tea, and above all you can observe the life around you: the friends who meet, the older ones who play cards or dominoes, those who read the newspaper or watch a soccer match. A whole theater that unfolds before your eyes!
