A museum to visit in Hajdúböszörmény, a good place to learn all about haiduks.
Housed in an 18th-century building, this museum presents the history of the haïdouks (or hajdús), the "outlaws" who fought against the Turks under Ottoman rule, their way of life, local agriculture and traditional crafts. Among its treasures are archaeological objects dating back over 5,000 years, traditional costumes and works by local artists. The museum also boasts a sculpted garden and regularly organizes cultural events.
