REFORMED COLLEGE
Historic college housing a museum of sacred art and the history of Protestantism in Hungary, as well as an extensive library.
This college (Református Kollégium), built between 1803 and 1816, was originally a school teaching Latin, run by Dominicans. In the 16th century, the college became one of the country's first Calvinist schools, and in 1750, a Reformed theological university. The college houses a museum of sacred art and the history of Protestantism in Hungary. The extensive library, the country's second-largest, boasts half a million books, including ancient works and precious manuscripts, such as a Bible annotated in Luther's hand.
