KLAUZÁL SQUARE (KLAUZÁL TÉR)
Szeged's new Zsóter house and Klára Tóbiá's Fountain of the Kings give it a Mediterranean feel.
Klauzál Square exudes a somewhat Mediterranean atmosphere, with the Zsóter house and the Fountain of the Kings by Klára Tóbiás. Among the many statues is one by Lajos Kossuth, one of the first in Hungary to depict the whole man. It was from the balcony of the Kárász house, on this square, that Lajos Kossuth delivered his last speech calling for war in 1849. Lively terraces, cafés and strollers punctuate the life of this square.
