FAZOLA DOORS AND COMITAT HEADQUARTERS
Baroque and Rococo building in Eger, renowned for its remarkable wrought-iron portals decorated with coats of arms.
Strolling along Kossuth Street, don't miss the splendid Fazola Gate, a Baroque and Rococo masterpiece. These wrought-iron gates, decorated with coats of arms, adorn the prefecture building at the corner of Kossuth and Egészségház streets. Designed by Henrik Fazola in 1761, they are brimming with symbolic details: bunches of grapes, a stork holding a snake, and a smiling clown. Presented at the 1900 Paris Universal Exhibition, they were awarded a gold medal.
