MINARET
Elegant Turkish minaret, 40 m high, with a balcony offering superb views of Eger and the surrounding area.
This elegant, 40 m-high 17th-century Turkish minaret, restored several times, shoots its spire skywards. It remains the tallest and best-preserved of the three Ottoman minarets still standing in Hungary. Remains of a former mosque destroyed in 1841, it bears witness to the Ottoman era. From its balcony (93 steps!), the view over Eger is breathtaking. Narrow and vertiginous, it is not recommended for the claustrophobic. In summer, it hosts a tourist event: the call of the muezzin resounds once again, 350 years after the historic siege of 1552.

Les escaliers sont très étroits. Il n'est pas possible de se croiser. Si des personnes sont déjà montés, vous devrez attendre qu'ils descendent.
