Romanesque abbey church in Ják. Its richly decorated entrance porch is topped by impressive statuary.

The entrance porch of this Romanesque abbey church is richly decorated, topped by impressive statuary. The statue of Christ on his throne, with his apostles, five on each side, is one of Hungary's most significant works. The richness of the façade rivals that of the eastern part of the sanctuary, also adorned with sculptures, the most remarkable of which is that of a young man, with a noble look, seated on a throne surrounded by lions, a fleur-de-lis scepter in his hand.

To see. An elegant mix between romanesque and Gothic. The sanctuary, built between 1214 and 1256 is a little austere refurbished interior, despite some beautiful traces of fresco and stunning medieval altarpiece painted wood, but the large external statuary and well-preserved, deserves attention.
