TÁBORNOK HÁZ
General Tábornok ház's house in Sopron, a gift from Dr. Kristóf Lackner.
Dating back to the 15th century, Tábornok-ház was the residence of Lackner Kristóf, humanist mayor of Sopron in the 17th century. After his death in 1631, it became the home of military commanders, hence its name. Since 2023, it has been part of the Múzeumnegyed, a museum complex comprising several historic buildings linked by footbridges and shared courtyards. The Tábornok-ház hosts permanent and temporary exhibitions. Its inner courtyard with balconies, open to visitors, offers a unique setting for discovering the history of Sopron.
