Located on the Yungui plateau southwest of Guiyang, Anshun is a mandatory step for anyone wishing to visit the Huangguoshu Falls and the caves of Longgong (Dragon Palace Caves). Created by Han settlers under the Ming dynasty, Anshun still enjoys its favorable geographical location at the crossroads of the Yunnan, Huangguoshu caves and Xingyi forests. Once an important platform in the trade of tea, cotton and opium, Anshun continues to be one of the most important merchants in Guizhou today.
