Places where a few old houses with stone gables have survived
From Yangshuo, the bicycle ride to the village of Fuli is a pleasant 40-minute ride along the river. The village still boasts a number of old stone-gabled houses and narrow streets leading down to the river. With a history spanning more than 1,000 years, this village is famous for its hand-painted paper fans, which can be purchased from the many stalls lining its alleyways. Markets are held here regularly, on the 2nd, 5th, 8th, 12th, 18th, 22nd, 25th and 28th of each month.
