Hill featuring a grotto with 50 stone sculptures from different dynasties
This famous hill is reminiscent of an elephant plunging its trunk into the water: in fact, it's the city's symbol. Between the elephant's trunk and the hill is a circular grotto known as the "Water and Moon Grotto". On full-moon days, visitors go by boat to contemplate the moon's reflection in the water. The walls feature 50 sculptures from different dynasties. A short path leads to the top of the hill where the Puxian pagoda, built during the Ming dynasty, stands.
