FÊTE DE SAN SALVATORE

Corsa degli scalzi begins at the dawn of the first Saturday of September, when thousands of young people, naked feet and dressed with white colds, take the statue of the saint to take him to the village shrine. They commemorate the company of a group of young people from San Salvatore di Sinis who, in 1506, after evacuating their village caught by the Arabs, returned to seek the statue of the saint. The next day, the race is in the opposite direction, to the church of Santa Maria Assunta, where the crowd awaits the valiant runners.
