CATTEDRALE DI SAN PIETRO
A beautiful 15th century cathedral in Tempio Pausania.
Founded in the 15th century and enlarged in the following centuries, the town's cathedral was completely remodelled around 1830. Only the base of the bell tower and the original north façade remain. A new neoclassical façade was designed for the south gable. The single nave plan gives the illusion of a transept with the two large chapels on the sides of the choir. It has two beautiful 18th century wooden altars, while the high altar, pulpit and baptismal font are made of Genoa marble.
