Denham is a village of around 700 inhabitants, and along with Monkey Mia, a possible base for exploring Shark Bay. Denham, unlike most of Shark Bay's islands and bays which take their names from French expeditions and their members, owes its name to Henry Denham, the English commander who mapped the bay in 1858. It's a seaside resort that's great for swimming, fishing and boating. Perfect for the Monkey Mia dolphins and François Peron National Park. Knight Terrace is home to the main points of interest, restaurants and accommodation. Children will love the seaside playground. Dirk Hartog Island lies to the west of Denham.
