A large park with an impressive glass-and-steel bridge providing a view over the treetops.

400 hectares of greenery overlooking the city and the Swan River from Mount Eliza. It is larger than Central Park and is one of the largest urban parks in the world! This is where the King's Park Wildflower Festival takes place in September, one of the best times of the year to come to WA: the colorful flowers are everywhere! You can walk through the bush trails or choose one of the 2 areas with games for children and barbecues for picnics. The Federation Walkway is an impressive glass and steel bridge that allows you to admire the landscape through the treetops. Several buildings commemorating Australia's fallen soldiers are located here, including the imposing State War Memorial with its Court of Contemplation. At nightfall, the eucalyptus alleys are lit up with multicolored lights that give the park an unreal dimension. In summer (December to March), you can enjoy an outdoor movie at the Moonlight Cinema. Tickets can be purchased online. Finally, you can do some shopping, including aboriginal art, in the Aspects of Kings Park store or have a drink on the very pleasant terrace of the cafeteria. Don't forget your hat and bottle of water before heading out on the short hiking trails along the park. South of the park, along the Swan River, you can also see (and photograph!) the famous Crawley Edge Boatshed, also known as the Blue Boat House.
