This museum and art gallery features a permanent collection of Top End wildlife.
This is the NT's main museum and art gallery. The permanent collection features the wildlife of the Top End, including a huge crocodile with the gentle name of Sweetheart that terrorized the population in the 1970s, and an exhibition on Cyclone Tracy, which devastated the town in 1974. Every year, between August and December, the best works of Aboriginal art in the country (the prestigious NATSIAA) are exhibited here. The view from the café is superb for a short break.
