Affectionately known as "Curry", Cloncurry is one of the oldest towns in the Australian outback. It was founded in 1867 by Ernest Henry, following the discovery of copper and gold deposits. Until the emergence of Mount Isa, it was the main regional center and served as the starting point for the Royal Flying Doctor Service in 1928. It was also the first destination of the Qantas flight. Emblematic of the outback lifestyle, Curry attracts tourists looking for a change of scenery and immersion. Don't miss a visit to the Cloncurry Unearthed Museum, the John Flynn Place Museum & Art Gallery and the Mary Kathleen Mine.
