As surprising as it is exotic, Einasleigh is a typical Australian bush town. At the end of the 19th century, copper deposits were developed there and prospered until the 1920s. A rail link was also built in the following years. Today, Einasleigh has a population of just under 500 and three sites on the Queensland Heritage Register: the copper mine (1860), the old stationmaster's house (1909) and the Queenslander Hotel (1909). Check out the beautiful black rock gorge where you can spot freshwater crocodiles and don't miss the annual race and rodeo
