These caves, which were once submerged by the sea, are now home to small bent-wing bats.

The caves of Mount Etna were once submerged by the sea, which shaped its walls: the limestone of the ancient coral reefs formed the rocky karst that can be seen today. The galleries are home to bent-wing bats. Females gather in a single cave to give birth and care for their offspring. From December to February, the rangers organize bat-watching tours.
