Monastery founded by the priest Makarius and the monk Vaarlam Beletis in Volimes.

Near the village Anafonitria, this monastery was founded by the priest Makarius and the monk Vaarlam Beletis in 1535. The tower in the centre of the monastery was built in 1561 so that the monks could protect themselves from pirates. To see: the small chapel which can be visited with the information of a monk present has beautiful Byzantine frescos. The place breathes serenity: the monastery has been recently restored but it hosts only three monks currently.
