AGHIOS IOANNIS ANTZOUSSIS

The church of Aghios Ioannis Antzoussis is the oldest on the island of Lefkada. It is really worth a little detour. It is built in the rock above the beach of Aghios Ioannis. It was built on the site of an older church in the 16th century. Most importantly, St. Paul is said to have preached here in the 1st century AD. Inside the church, icons representing saints and scenes from the Bible have been well preserved.
