Site offering beautiful walks in the nature where you can observe rare species of butterflies

Approximately 6 km from the town of Lefkada, in the direction of the municipality of Sfakiotes, the Melissa Gorge offers beautiful nature walks. The hike is of medium difficulty and lasts 45 minutes. You'll discover old wooden bridges, abandoned watermills and rich vegetation in the shade of plane trees. Of the 64 watermills in operation in 1814, only six are still standing. You can also spot rare species of butterfly and dragonfly along the way. Even if the trail is a little neglected, it's magical!
