BLUE CAVE

A 30-minute sea cab ride from the port is the Grotte Bleue, otherwise known as the Parasta or Fokiali cave. This unique natural site is not to be missed. From the sea, the opening in the rock is barely visible, and access is impossible in rough seas. But once inside, the spectacle is breathtaking. At 40 metres high, 37 metres wide and 20 metres deep, it's a gigantic cavity. Light from outside reflects off the water and illuminates the interior of the cave, giving it a turquoise or deep-blue hue depending on the time of day.
