Hamlet at the foot of the highest point of the island near the beaches of Sapounohoma.

Ready for some walking? The hamlet of Kalotaritissa is located at the foot of the highest point of the island, Mount Papas (385 m). Nearby are the beaches of Sapounohoma, Messa Ammos and Trypiti which are dominated by rocky caves. There is a good tavern (To Mitsos, +30 22850 51522) in the hamlet where you can eat and wait for the bus to the village. Alternatively, take trail no. 1 which will take you to this part of the island from Stavros through beautiful scenery. It takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to walk.
